Today, global industries are dealing with the data growing with a rate which was unprecedented. For a long time, the data captured was lying in vain until one fine day some genius conceptualized the term- “Data Science”. Going by definition, Data science is the union of statistics, data analysis, machine learning and their related disciplines in order to understand and analyse data to reveal insights. It is driven by a classic combination of maths, computers and rational to fetch data insights. N-dimensional data being crunched into a few resultant numbers impacting business decisions makes more sense than unreadable excel sheets. The fact that every decision is based on facts and not mere intuitions is a delight to every business.
When we have the data, we need experts who can decipher the data to deliver interpretable results. This is where the need arises for data scientists.
The MSc program in Data science takes students on the prolific journey to understand its components – statistics, programming and then machine learning. It will highly benefit the individuals with an acumen to learn the nitty-gritty of data science to transform their careers into highly desirable ones.
This program would allow individuals to gain insights on the overall process of data science from the stage of data collection to the point of generating insights and their presentation. It would familiarize them with the commonly used tools and programming languages used in the discipline, equip them with necessary concepts and enable them to guide their rational in applying suitable methods of data analysis.

COURSES
The ESDST Online MSc program in Data Science consists of 12 courses spanning across various subjects on data science and ML. The course is loaded with multiple hands-on projects/assignments with at least one capstone industry linked project wherein each student will be required to work on a unique, real world business problem. Duration of each course will be around 3 weeks constituting 5 to 6 ECTS credits. Students must complete all these courses and the capstone project to earn a total of 90 ECTS to qualify the MSc in Data science and Machine Learning.

The ESDST MS in Data Science will equip our graduates with the necessary skills and knowledge to assist them in their career growth. With an equal focus on theoretical concepts and practical applications, the program enables exposure of the students to understand the nature of work, complexities involved and viable solution approaches for industry problems. Ample business projects, training on advanced tools and guidance by industry mentors will allow students to gain a 365 degree exposure to the world of data science.
Each student at ESDS is matched with an Industry mentor, preferably in the same industry in which the student is working or has aspirations to enter. The mentor guides the student through the course and provides the student with real-life experiential learning along with core learning taking place in the program.
Primary outcomes:
1. Develop a deep understanding of data science concepts and machine learning algorithms and how are they applied together
2. Comprehend business problems and develop an approach to solve them through DS/ML principles
3. Build an approach to intelligently study and skim data to suitably narrow down on ML algorithms, which deliver a viable solution
4. Build the positive perspectives and skills that create productive managerial leaders and business networks to create world class teams
5. Be proficient in the usage of tools/technologies prevalent in the data science industry
After successful completion of the program, career roles would be guided by the level of expertise of the students and prior experience. For working professionals, avenues range from career shift/transformation from the current role to a data science role. For fresh graduates, the knowledge and skills developed during the program would enable them to apply for suitable positions centred around their skills and interests. Students can target any of the following roles:

ELIGIBILITY
ESDST maintains very high standards for students who enter our academic programs. For all MSc programs, the following criteria need to be met before admission is offered to a prospective student.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent recognized academic title in any discipline.
Qualifications Waiver:
For students who don’t have a Bachelor’s Degree, ESDS uses Recognition of Prior Experience (RPE). ESDS generally utilizes over 3 years of relevant experience in a significant role for waiver of Bachelor’s Degree. Please contact us at admissions@esdst.eu
