What are your motivations for enrolling in this program at ESDST?
After working in IT for more than 20 years, I am seeking the opportunity to equip myself in emerging technologies. Data Science and AI are regarded as one of the hottest areas. While I had gone through a couple of different courses from other institutes over the past many years, I seemed interested to dive deeper into this specialization area and achieve a higher educational background in this field.
I was one of the top architects in possibly one of the largest IT / networking company – Cisco when I was in Hong Kong. However, when I migrated to Australia about a year ago, I could not find myself a decent job. Job market in Australia requires oneself to be imbued with rich local experience and therefore I had to start over again from a junior/mid-level engineer.
Doing hands-on and technical jobs are my strongest areas and I enjoy helping customers in resolving their challenges.
I don’t have a concrete plan to start with a career in data science yet but would investigate this opportunity once I feel better equipped.
