Q&A with the Student:

What are your motivations for enrolling in this program at ESDST?

Besides getting to know different management techniques and best practices, my motivation for enrolling in the MBA Operations Analytics is based on the specific data focus of this program. We are living in a world that is getting more and more digitized and business processes as well as reporting chains are relying on people with knowledge in analysing data. The MBA Operations Analytics was the most suitable program for me to obtain this essential knowledge.

Can you describe your journey highlighting any challenges or obstacles faced, encouragements received, key professional achievements etc?

During my journey, I went abroad to China for one year where I studied for half a year in the university and underwent an internship along with a bachelor thesis in a German company located in Shanghai. Due to the different culture and work ethics, this trip became one of the biggest challenges of my life. Slowly, I understood customs by continuously communicating with peers and being open to something new which resulted in numerous experiences from which I still benefit.

What are you most passionate about? What have you done in the past or are currently pursuing that gives you a sense of satisfaction of having achieved positive/tangible outcomes in issues that you support?

I am passionate about the continuous learning process. One should never stop to learn since learning provides progress and participation in new ideas for our society. Currently, I am enrolled in a book club specialized around non-fiction literature which shows me perspectives I haven’t heard of before and allows me to grow mentally.

How do you plan to use the knowledge and skills that you are going to acquire through this course coupled with your professional experiences and achievements for the betterment of the society at large?

First, I will use the knowledge acquired through this course to fulfil my job responsibilities in the best possible way by motivating my employees and preparing data specifically and thus advance my team and the company. By establishing a healthy leadership style based on empathy as well as data, I would like to contribute to the fact that managers are viewed as positive role models in society and that employees feel comfortable at work and experience an optimal work-life balance.
